DEAR FRIENDS,
זצ”ל, Thirty eight years ago, my father, the revered Spinka Rebbe R’ Hershele Horowitz, entrusted us with a mission. I will never forget the concern in his eyes and the passion in his voice as he described its signi cance.
My father’s door was always open and his genuine warmth made him the rst address for individuals in distress. It was no wonder
that parents struggling to keep their families a oat after the birth of a new child gravitated to R’ Hershele for comfort and
support.
For most, those rst few weeks
were challenging, dif cult, and
stressful. For some, they were impossible.
And my father asked us to answer their unspoken cries. Following that initial conversation, he followed up on a nearly daily basis, “what did you do for the kimpatorins today?”
It’s has been almost four decades, and Kimpatorin Aid is still responding to the question. New mothers are given the help they need to regain proper strength after birth, so they have the presence of mind to be able to focus on their family.
